According to multiple reports, a group of children fishing the Wabash river found a man’s body yesterday afternoon near the Big Four train bridge in Terre Haute.

A live video from the scene appeared to show a Terre Haute Police Department cruiser and a van possibly belonging to a Vigo County medical examiner.

This is the second body found near the bridge in the past year. In November 2023 the body of a young woman was discovered in the same area.

The Terre Haute Police Department has confirmed that they responded to a report of a deceased body at approximately 5:30pm near the 700 block of North First Street.

THPD detectives and the Vigo County Coroner are investigating the death and more information will be released when permitted.
