According to a report on the WEVV website, A routine check on a property after a winter storm led to the arrest of two individuals accused of burglary, after their vehicles became stuck in the snow during the alleged crime.

Authorities were called to a residence on Monday morning to investigate a reported burglary. According to police, a concerned individual had gone to inspect the home following the recent storm, only to find two vehicles stuck in the snow and a truck attempting to tow them out.

The individuals, later identified as Matthew Ingle and Madelyn Brewer, were reportedly on the scene. However, police say Ingle fled toward a nearby hotel before officers arrived.

Upon inspecting the home, the property owner discovered several belongings missing. They also noticed some of their items inside Brewer’s vehicle. Brewer was taken into custody on the spot, while officers tracked Ingle to a local hotel, where he was found and detained.

During questioning, Brewer reportedly told investigators that she witnessed Ingle break a window to enter the home and remove items. Ingle, however, declined to provide a statement to authorities.

Both suspects were booked into the county jail and now face burglary charges. This incident serves as a reminder for residents to remain vigilant in checking their properties after severe weather events.
