Reports came in last night around 6:30pm of a shooting at 563 Grayburn Ct, a home in the Richland Manor subdivision located in Southern Vigo County. Then later that evening a young doctor named Andre Obua was booked into the Vigo County jail on charges of attempted murder, criminal recklessness, and burglary.

According to information found on the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine website, Obua was a third year pathology resident who had graduated from the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine and Public Health. His biography also states that he is from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The address of the incident is listed online as belonging to the “Sharma Gera Living Trust.” An online search of Sharma Gera resulted in doctors Puja Sharma and Manish Gera. According to the Valley Professionals Community Health Center website Sharma is a local doctor specializing in women’s health and preventative care.

Gera is listed on Regional Hospital’s website as a Nephrologist. It is unclear at this time who the victim of the shooting was but according to the Vigo County Sheriff’s department the injuries were not life threatening and the individual is being treated at a local hospital.
