According to the organizers of an upcoming “mass deportation rally” in Fishers, Indiana, Governor Mike Braun has declined to speak at the event, and also declined to submit a video recording. It is not known at this time why Braun declined the invitation.
Reporting on the rally indicates that it is scheduled for August 1st, 2026, but the location has been kept private because organizers claim to have received death threats.
The event initially gained notoriety when it was announced that Greg Bovino, former Border Patrol “commander at large” would be the keynote speaker, with video remarks from Indiana’s Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith and Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita.
The rally is being organized by Save Heritage Indiana, and according to their website the group was founded by Daniel Poynter and Nathan Roberts, who both claim to be descendants of passengers on the Mayflower.
Poynter’s biography also states that he studied philosophy at Purdue University and currently works as a “tech entrepreneur” helping America First organizations like the Heritage Foundation use AI to achieve real results.
It appears Poynter started organizing during his time at Purdue, then went on to found the non-profit Carbon Neutral Indiana, whose mission it is to help Indiana households and businesses measure and offset their carbon pollution.
Fishers Resists, a local chapter of the Indivisible Indiana organization, has scheduled a Hoosier Hospitality March for the same day from 3-6PM starting at Holland Park in Fishers.
