Jayson Tatlock, a former school resource officer at Bloomington North High School, has pled guilty to “child seduction by a child care worker” in Owen County.

According to reporting from WTHR, additional misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, battery, and furnishing alcohol to a minor were dismissed.

Court records show that judge Donald VanDerMoere sentenced Tatlock to one year in prison and one year of home detention, along with a requirement to register as a sex offender.

Previous reporting on the case revealed that Tatlock had met the student while working as a resource officer, spent time with her in his office, and began communicating with her through email.

He admitted to inviting her on a fishing trip where he provided her with alcohol, took her to a secluded area, and made sexual advances. Although the police report was filed in February 2025, charges were not brough against Tatlock until June 2025.

Tatlock was placed on administrative leave by Monroe County Community schools on June 18th, when they were notified of the charges, and Tatlock resign the next day.

According to a report from FOX59, Tatlock was “previously employed with the Seymour Police Department, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and the Monroe County Public Defender’s Office.”
