In a YouTube video posted yesterday, which already has over 35 million views, Mr Beast staged a city wide manhunt with over 100 Indiana State Police troopers at a southern Indiana Military facility. 

The production was filmed at the Muscatatuck Urban Warfare training facility located an hour and a half southeast of Indianapolis, and featured Jimmy Donaldson (Mr Beast) and four other contestants trying to hide from police for twelve hours.

In the 20 minute video, Donaldson explains that his production team spent months setting up hidden cameras and pyrotechnics in preparation for the event, which concluded with a portrayal of the police finding all of the contestants and winning $500,000.

A post made to the ISP Facebook page stated, “We had a lot of fun being part of this production and showing a different side of the Indiana State Police. From K9 and emergency response to the everyday work our troopers do across Indiana, there is a lot more to being a Trooper than what you see on the side of the road.”

According to the Mr Beast YouTube page, “Every state trooper involved in this video participated strictly on a voluntary basis during their personal off-duty time using their own Paid Time Off. Thank you to all of the officers who chose to spend their personal time working with us to make this video fun for our fans.”

Other reports indicated that law enforcement was also compensated for the large number of police vehicles and equipment. It is not known at this time how the use of that equipment affected law enforcement’s policing capabilities during the production.
