Visitors attending the 12 Points District First Friday gathering were invited to tour the Upstairs at the Gosnell, a new artist studio located on the second floor of the Gosnell building at 1285 Lafayette Ave.
At the top of the stairs hangs two portraits of famous historical Terre Haute residents, George “Eddie” Gosnell on the left and Madame Edith Brown on the right. Several artists were in their studios working and talking to customers as they passed through.

The Quirky Cactus is a brightly colored studio at the end of the hall. They specialize in. “displaying succulents and cacti in unexpected ways.” You can also find the Quirky Cactus booth at the Saturday morning Terre Haute Farmer’s Market.
Hayley Bean, instructor at Deming Park Pottery, greeted visitors and displayed various artworks including a series of pottery recently created during a primitive fire pit firing class. Information about upcoming classes can be found on their Facebook page.

Lacey Lewis and Erin Nicole both have studios displaying an assortment of their artworks. Lewis showed off a beautiful collection of original paintings, mixed media, and jewelry. And Nicole was selling a stunning series of floral works available in canvas, print, and sticker.
Dancing Elements is the studio of local artist Meagan Monds. The studio features an array of works in several mediums, many of which were created using a variety of acrylic pouring techniques. Monds uses the technique to create an exquisite collection of rings and pendants.

A few studios are still available for rent but they are reserved for artists and creators only. For more information contact Mark and Tiffany Baker and 3 Sisters Investments.
