Just a year after the doors were opened it appears the Pathways Day Center on South 15th Street is closed. Multiple sources have now reported that due to funding issues the center for homeless services is not operating.

It is not clear yet whether the closure is temporary or permanent. When reached for comment, former Pathways director Andrew Miller responded, “please direct questions to (Reach Services) board president Chris Moore.”

According to a report in the Tribune Star, the Reach Services facility had been funded by $415,000 in COVID relief aid from the city of Terre Haute, $20,000 from the Vigo County Commissioners, and $40,000 from other grants and donations.

In the recent WTHI mayoral debate, mayor Duke Bennett referenced Pathways Day Center as a primary resource for addressing the growing homeless population in Terre Haute.

“A lot of them (homeless) don’t want any help, one of the things we helped create, with Reach Services, was the Pathway Day Center. It’s a place police officers and people can send them.”

As of the publication of this article Reach Services has not publicly shared information about the closure of the facility on their social media accounts.
